IYLCP 2025 Graduation Ceremony at GRUNI
Grigol Robakidze University (GRUNI) hosted the graduation ceremony of the International Youth Leadership Certificate Program (IYLCP) 2025 cohort on November 28. The event brought together students, parents, school directors, and teachers from several regions of Georgia, including Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Sachkhere, Poti, Ushguli, Tsageri and Tkibuli.
The ceremony opened with remarks from Anna Abesadze, Adviser to the Rector of GRUNI, who welcomed guests and spoke about the growing influence and value of the program.
IYLCP is a joint initiative between GRUNI and Singapore’s Global Citizen Education Group, now in its second year. Designed for students in grades IX–XII from Georgian, Azerbaijani, Filipino, Vietnamese, and Indonesian communities, the program offers a 9-week online leadership course conducted fully in English.

The graduation ceremony was attended by program speakers Tengiz Taktakishvili and Jose Romero, who shared their insights and congratulated the students. GRUNI’s leadership, Rector Professor Mamuka Tavkhelidze and Vice-Rector Vakhtang Charaia, also addressed the audience, emphasizing the strategic role of youth leadership development.
A special highlight of the event was a virtual congratulatory message from Angus Yong, Chief People Officer of the Global Citizen Education Group. Students also presented their learning outcomes through project showcases. The ceremony concluded with the awarding of certificates and heartfelt testimonials from the graduates.
